Not yet a buddy?

A Small But Mighty Beginning

Backpack Buddies launched in 2011 with a simple idea: feed children who would otherwise struggle to eat over the weekend.

Over the years, the model evolved and expanded. By 2022, an umbrella 501(c)(3) organization united Community Buddy partners across Metro Atlanta—enabling efficiency, scale, and sustainable growth.

Today, our organization has:

  • Tripled our reach

  • Served one million meals

  • Built a 4000 sq. ft. warehouse for streamlined sourcing, packing, volunteering, and distribution

What started small is now a county-wide movement.
