Why We Do it

For thousands of children in Metro Atlanta, school is the most reliable source of daily meals. When school ends for the weekend, that support often disappears. Backpack Buddies of Metro Atlanta exists to close that gap. We provide nutritious, kid-friendly food each Friday to students in Title I schools who rely on school meals, ensuring they have enough to eat through the weekend. Consistent access to food supports children’s health, focus, and ability to learn. By addressing weekend hunger, we help remove one of the barriers that keeps children from showing up on Monday ready to succeed.
